Central Alberta Photographer looking for models

As a commercial and stock photographer we are looking for people that are comfortable in front of the camera and wants to see their pictures in magazines, flyers, on billboards, and just about any other form of media.

We primarily shoot lifestyle that includes diverse children and college students, families and extended families, sports, and retirement living.

We do very little fashion and glamour and absolutely no nude or implied nude. All our shoots are family friendly and fun - the type of stuff that promotes a healthy lifestyle.

Do I need to be a professional model?

No! You just need to be comfortable in front of the camera.

How much will the photoshoot cost me?

The photoshoot is completely free to you.

What will I receive for doing the photoshoot?

We work that out on a case-by-case basis depending on your level of experience, the type of shoot you are a part of, and how much we have worked together in the past. We usually provide you with an option of TFP (trade for picture) or paid.

What kind of pictures will be taken at the photoshoot?

We like to have a happy and fresh look to our portfolio.

Where will my pictures be used?

The pictures are sold with royalty-free licenses to designers through picture libraries also called stock agencies. Depending on the specific license the designer purchases they can be used in magazines, websites, brochures, books, leaflets, television, and other forms of advertising. Our images have been on book covers, magazine covers, and gigantic billboards. The photo libaries have strict terms and conditions of with what can and cannot be done with each picture. None of your personal information on the model release will be shared with the buyers without your expressed written permission on a case-by-case basis. They style of photographer we do is not the type that is usally used in an offensive manner.

Here are two quotes from iStockphoto's Content License Agreement for buyers:

"Permitted Uses. Subject to the restrictions described under Prohibited Uses below, the following are “Permitted Uses” of Content:

advertising and promotional projects, including printed materials, product packaging, presentations, film and video presentations, commercials, catalogues, brochures, promotional greeting cards and promotional postcards (ie. not for resale or license);
entertainment applications, such as books and book covers, magazines, newspapers, editorials, newsletters, and video, broadcast and theatrical presentations;
on–line or electronic publications, including web pages to a maximum of 800 x 600 pixels for image or illustration Content or to a maximum of 640x480 for video Content;
prints, posters (i.e. a hardcopy) and other reproductions for personal use or promotional purposes specified in (1) above, but not for resale, license or other distribution; and
any other uses approved in writing by iStockphoto."

"Prohibited Uses. You may not do anything with the Content that is not expressly permitted in the preceding section or permitted by an Extended License. For greater certainty, the following are “Prohibited Uses” and you may not:

use the Content in a fashion that is considered by iStockphoto (acting reasonably) as or under applicable law is considered pornographic, obscene, immoral, infringing, defamatory or libelous in nature, or that would be reasonably likely to bring any person or property reflected in the Content into disrepute;
use or display any Content that features a model or person in a manner (a) that would lead a reasonable person to think that such person uses or personally endorses any business, product, service, cause, association or other endeavour; or (b) except where accompanied by a statement that indicates that the Content is being used for illustrative purposes only and any person depicted in the Content is a model, that depicts such person in a potentially sensitive subject matter, including, but not limited to mental and physical health issues, social issues, sexual or implied sexual activity or preferences, substance abuse, crime, physical or mental abuse or ailments, or any other subject matter that would be reasonably likely to be offensive or unflattering to any person reflected in the Content, unless the Content itself clearly and undisputedly reflects the model or person in such potentially sensitive subject matter in which case the Content may be used or displayed in a manner that portrays the model or person in the same context and to the same degree depicted in the Content itself."
